What Documents Should I Bring to My Court Date?
Bring the following documents to your court date:
- First, if you live in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake or Geauga Counties AND your trustee is Sheldon Stein, you must coordinate with your attorney because Sheldon wants his documents 7 DAYS AHEAD OF TIME. If you do not work with your attorney to get the documents to him he will reschedule your bankruptcy hearing, wasting your time and money and causing you to miss work.
- Regardless, everyone must bring the following documents: 1. Driver's license or state ID; 2. Social security card (mandatory); 3. Bank statements FOR ALL ACCOUNTS-- EVEN EMPTY ACCOUNTS THAT YOU DON'T USE!-- showing the amount you had in the bank on the day you filed your bankruptcy; 4. a utility bill, bank statement or other document showing your current address; 5. financial management course from alpsite.com (this is the 2nd credit counseling certificate).
- If you do not bring these documents your hearing may be rescheduled and you will incur an additional fee of $150 to compensate your attorney for the inconvenience of the unnecessary rescheduling.
